Sales forecasting is a factor in the fundamental analysis and valuation of finance and accounting literature. An analysis of sales, inflation, and personal consumption expenditure data obtained from publicly available sources is the source of some useful suggestions for financial analysts evaluating the sales of a firm or an industry, particularly in emerging market economies burdened with high inflation. The author demonstrates the benefits of expressing sales in real terms (inflation-adjusted sales). ER -
