A literature search reveals that no frontier market survey of this kind currently exists. In this study, exchange-traded and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives include the following instruments: futures, forwards, swaps, options, and contracts for differences. The survey also includes ETFs. Where data exist, the survey provides information on the location and availability of frontier market derivative contract descriptions and price and volume data. Such information on derivatives is of increasing practical value and convenience to both investors and hedgers transacting in today’s frontier markets.TOPICS: Long-term/retirement investing, frontier, exchange-traded funds and applications
